New Year = New Goals

December 31, 2012

I don't know why it is that many people wait for New Year's Eve to make a commitment to themselves and others to make change for the better,  but it seems to be the way of the world.

I have always suggested that there is no time like right now to make change... even if it's small change, a baby step in the direction you want to go.  As I have said in previous blog posts, the opportunities are out there just waiting for us to be ready to accept them.  How awful would it be if you had this amazing opportunity to visit a part of the world,  help a particular group of people or attain a goal you have had in the back of your mind for a long time and not be in any kind of position to act on that opportunity. The New Year is a great time to make that commitment to yourself to ease your way into a place that will get you closer and perhaps ready for whatever may happen.  There is for many people, a clean slate... a fresh outlook... a new beginning.

Write it down, whatever your goal is for the new year... make it positive, make your goal what you really want not what you don't.  If you want to quit smoking don't write down I want to quit smoking... that focuses on the 'Smoking".  Write down I want to live a healthy life and respect my body and live the life I have been given.  So many new year's resolution focus on the problem and not the solution... not the desired outcome.

Although I believe change can happen any time... NOW ... a new year is a great time.  If you need help forming a positive New Year's resolution contact me I can help make it near impossible to fail.

Look, you have done this almost every year.. "I'm gonna do this or that"... and after 1 month your commitment ends.  There are a few things you can do differently this year over all those other years that will make you succeed.  It requires Focus, attention and Energy.  There is works to getting and achieving goals, it is simple not easy.  I hope to hear from you and help you with your goal.
