Another Lesson From Costco

November 9, 2012

Back on September 19th of this year I wrote about my experience and the lesson I learned from my visit to Costco.  The other day I observed something else that I thought I would share.

As I was wondering through Costco and stocking up on all the essentials, I couldn't help but notice the massive amount of stuff they have.  If I ever accidentally get locked in a store over night, this is the store I would want it to be.   I think they have almost everything a person uses in day to day life.  But that's not what this blog is about.

What I noticed on this visit to Costco is that they  never have an empty spot, there is never an empty shelf or rack.

What this speaks to for me is the absolute abundance that there is in the world.  I am sure that there are times when this big warehouse store sells out of something and that would create a empty spot... but you never see an empty spot.  When you go to the warehouse and look up... you will see hundreds of skids full and at the ready to fill any spot that may come available.  Now I know that much of this is just 'Stuff" and material goods but is just illustrates how much there is.

If you ever thought the world would run out of the "stuff"  you want take a trip to Costco and you will be reminded that the world is abundant.
