I have many clients I coach that tell me they don't know what they want. My first question to all of my clients is "So what do you want?" It is one of the most difficult questions to answer. and the answer i get most often is I don't know!
This is a great place to start because if you can make a list of all the things you don't want and then find the opposite of that thing you will define your ideal whatever.
In my coaching sessions I start by drawing a line down the middle of a page and writing on the top of the left side... things I don't want, and on the top of the right side... things I do want.
Once this is done we list as many things as we can think of that would not be ideal in whatever aspect of their life we are looking at. For example the ideal job.
Start with on the left side
Don't want to work weekends
Don't want to work night
Don't want to be the working poor
On the right side find the opposite
Only want to work week days
Only want to work days
Want a substantial salary or wage.
Make these list as long as possible and you will start to clarity about your ideal life.
